Only sold twice
Jerry Murray, of Moncks Corner, SC bought this nearly rust-free Rampside in November, 2017 from Debi Stewart, of Cullowhee, NC, a family member of the original owner, Joseph Townsend, of Clinton, NC. Joseph purchased the truck new in Florida.
Jerry shared the following info in June 2018:
"It was painted once before, lighter than the original Fawn. I repainted it light beige. One dime-sized rust spot just to rear of ramp was cut out and replaced. No other rust was found on the truck! The interior was refurbished and a new reproduction floor mat made by Steve Spilatro was installed. The engine was removed for cleaning and sealing. A new clutch was installed at this time. It never had a heater or lighter but has chrome bumpers, Positraction differential, and an oil bath air cleaner.
My plans for the truck are to drive it to the Maggie Valley show in October so Debi can see it. After that it will probably be for sale as I have a '63 Rampside with A/C and PG that I drive daily and a '63 Greenbrier nearing completion. The '64, with its low mileage and known history, needs to find a good, permanent home."
Jerry, I am so pleased you have been able to give this truck the TLC that it needed! By the way, the truck appears to have its original engine, with code T1126V.
The first two pictures were taken when the truck was for sale in 2017. The next six are after Jerry completed refurbishing it.
