One of the things that we improved during the winter of 2005-6 is a very small, yet significant detail: date coding of the diodes on the end of the alternator. You can see the date code in red ink.

Although CORSA Concours rules do not specify this detail for stock classification, a major focus of this restoration has been to make it as stock as possible.

Michael Pierce, former Region VIII Director of the National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS), told me about this detail when he saw the car in Portland during the 2005 CORSA convention. He hooked me up with John Pirkle in Augusta, GA, who provides the diode date coding service.

John was also able to provide a much nicer noise suppression capacitor, seen in this picture on the left. The original was dented and I previously did not have a replacement.
