Another detail that we corrected was the mounting of the rear muffler clamp. The 1966 Corvair assembly manual clearly shows the top bolt sliding partially inside the muffler mounting bracket perch but the original-type clamp we were using was too large to fit that way.

Luckily, we were able to find one a little smaller / shorter that fit perfectly, after Duanne cut the U-bolt down a bit.

Yes, this level of detail is obsessive! Going to these lengths is my way of honoring the many people who designed and built this, and all, Corvairs.
