Rust-free Rescue

Mike Emanuele, of Concord Township, OH, purchased this very nice example from Charlie O'Hare of Pittsburgh, PA in June, 2011.Charlie had previously purchased it in March, 2005 from Ron O'Dell, who owned it briefly after purchasing it from Steve Farrell of Medford, OR.

As of January, 2015, this van is is for sale. Mike shared the following about the circumstances surrounding the sale:

"I have found the Rampside that I have been looking to acquire for the past few years. Unfortunately, this is going to force me to sell this '65 Greenbrier. This is a very, very nice road-ready van. The price is $12,000.00 firm. If you are seriously interested please contact me and I will provide full details and pics."

Charlie had this to say about the Greenbrier when he owned it:

"The van has no rust at all and no leaks. The interior looks very nice. Even the original black front mat looks very good with no signs of wear. The odometer shows 18,400 miles, which I doubt is correct, but the van is too original to have 118,400 on it. The body has some dents and scrapes and faded beige paint with a white stripe. I plan on having it painted in the original color and keeping it as close to stock as possible. Everything including the radio works on the van."

This 6-door Greenbrier has its original 110 HP engine because of its code (T0827RU), which means a 1965 110HP FC block built on August 27, 1964. It also has a 4-speed transmission. Charlie sent some photos in May, 2005:

This rig sure looks clean.

In early December 2005, Charlie sent before and after photos of the drivetrain:

Mike, good luck selling this van. It shouldn't be very difficult!
