What Memories This Van Has...
This Greenbrier is owned by Bill West and Mary West. As of July 2009, the van is for sale. The asking price is $3000.
Bill had the following to say about their rig:
"We are the second owners. We bought it about three years ago. It was owned originally by a children's camp and was used to transport outreach groups. After it broke a piston it was parked in a garage for about 17 years, which is why the body is in such good condition. It has only one rust spot the size of a silver dollar on the rear door post of the side door.
When I bought it I had no idea what condition it was in mechanically. I bought it because the body was so good. The largest problem is that it is painted the camp colors which are forest green and yellow.
I have rebuilt the 110 HP engine, brake system, and front end in addition to other small things it needed. As far as equipment goes it is pretty standard with a third seat, deluxe wheel covers and mirrors, chrome bumpers, radio, and two-speed wipers.
I have taken it to a couple of shows and in our area it seems to be unique. Our goal is to make it as close to factory as possible. I owned three other Greenbriers growing up and find them to be great fun."
I wonder if any kids or adults in Bill's area have fond memories of riding to camp in this distinctively-painted Greenbrier?
Bill will send photos soon.
